Hello, and welcome to my Substack. I have no plans to write regularly (or even intermittently), but hopefully this platform will satisfy my urge to scream my opinions into the void in a slightly more professional and socially acceptable manner than cornering people on public transportation and demanding to know what their favorite microcap deSPAC fraud is.
Since most of you probably already know my background, as a brief précis, I was a chemist by original training, and after working for the government for a bit and then prestige-classing into applied mathematics, I wound up bouncing between a few different equity long/short hedge funds despite being a mere 13 years old. I also have a Twitter account, where I scream my aforementioned opinions at people who have mysteriously decided to listen.
Topics may or may not include various thoughts about markets and investing, portfolio construction, mathematics, science, politics and economics, and wine. I may even tell a joke or two, if I can think of one.
I suspect activity on this blog will be strongly negatively correlated to Twitter working or not, and reserve all rights to abandon ship if things there seem to stabilize, as well as vice versa.
See you around,
Q.
PS- One final note. As I am currently employed at a SEC-registered investment adviser, I am contractually bound to provide all work product solely to my employer. I will NEVER post trade ideas, securities recommendations, solicitations for investment, or other material of that nature on this Substack. All investing content here will be strictly general interest commentary and theoretical discussion, and is not to be relied upon in any type of go-forward sense. Consult a legal, financial, or tax adviser if you require specialized advice, because I am none of those. If you are looking for this weeks SPX resistance levels, or a blistering expose on a biotech faking revenue, or a 10,000 word paen to Warren Buffet’s management of Berkshire Hathaway, go somewhere else.
